Autorola’s group chief executive Peter Grøftehauge has been inducted into the Fleet Europe Hall of Fame at the recent Remarketing Awards 2023 in Lisbon.
Fleet Europe, the leading European fleet publication for International fleet & mobility leaders celebrated Peter’s significant contribution to the development of the international remarketing industry along with hundreds of industry peers at its annual remarketing conference.
The judges said Peter has not only has been a visionary on the power of online used car selling since 2001, even before the Internet was a mainstream trading tool, he has elevated standards and expectations across the wider vehicle remarketing industry.
It is only the second year this accolade has been awarded. Peter joins last year’s winner Wolfgang Reinhold, president of the European Car Remarketing Association (CARA), who he greatly admires as a fellow remarketing innovator.
Autorola now has subsidiaries in over 20 countries including Europe, Latin America, Australia and more recently the Middle East where its partnership with Al-Futtaim Automotive is helping re-engineer and re-invent vehicle remarketing processes across the entire region.
“I think we’re still just at the beginning of the digital transformation, even in advanced markets like the UK, Germany, France and Italy,” explained Peter Grøftehauge in a recent interview with Fleet Europe.
“There are many companies who are still not fully on board. And those that are, still have a major scope for improvement. Our country teams are often not just helping their customers improve their remarketing processes, they are often delivering new levels of remarketing professionalism and processes for entire countries.
“It is an exciting time for Autorola as more vendors and buyers than ever before are realising the true power of trading on the internet and I am very proud and honoured to be recognised in this way by Fleet Europe,” he added.
